Brick & Mortar is a game of narrow margins, quirky stores, and strategic market manipulation. Two to four players assume the role of enterprising store owners who expand their reach into a variety of markets. Over multiple rounds, they try to maximize profits, build equity, and undercut the competition—all while dealing with a market that can change at the whim of their opponents.
Each round, you'll simultaneously determine the market, speculate on resources, sell what you can, invest in victory points, and manage your storefronts. Each new store in your building provides unique benefits and restrictions. In the end, the player with the greatest investment in both stores and points wins!
- Modifications for Tabletopia -
In the Tabletopia version, hidden zones replace the screens. Each zone has a side that is restricted to one player and a side that is visible to everyone. Mousing over and pressing F will toggle the visibility of these zones.
To play your market cards, toggle the zone to the hidden state and arrange your cards as normal (face up for supply, face down for demand). When everyone is ready, toggle your zones to the visible state.
Counters replace bidding dials. To bid simultaneously, mouse over the counters on your hidden zone and press the spacebar to pull up an editing view. Alternatively, you can mouse over the dial and scroll to change the value. Once everyone is ready, press F while hovering over your zones to reveal the dials.
