Panoply is a two-player tactical wargame of positioning, bluffing, and decisive duels, set against a medieval battlefield.
Players command opposing armies fighting for control of key positions on a shared grid. While movement and positioning are fully open and deterministic, combat is resolved through simultaneous card play, introducing hidden information, psychological tension, and calculated risk.
Victory is achieved by controlling all control posts for the duration of one round. Holding enough of these positions rewards players with additional cards, creating momentum shifts and forcing difficult choices between offensive and defensive play.
This game was made with love for chess but a need to diverse from the fully deterministic nature of it.
