What Is Happening in the World of Crabs in a Bucket?

The four Crab Kingdoms have lived by their own rules for far too long. Now the old order is falling apart, and the kingdoms themselves are caught up in plots, unexpected alliances, and crabs willing to do whatever it takes to win. In Crabs in a Bucket, every player becomes part of this struggle and tries to be the first to get rid of all the cards in their hand.

This fast-paced card game from Blue Rondo Games is designed for 2-6 players, with each game lasting just 5-15 minutes. The four suits represent different Crab Kingdoms, but the real personality of the game comes from the Joker Crabs - unusual characters who can interfere with what is happening and completely change the situation at the table.

Each of them has its own personality and role in the kingdoms. Some interfere with other players' plans, others force opponents to give up their cards, and some can suddenly change the course of the struggle. So even when one contender is already close to victory, the others can still turn everything around. The game features 22 Joker Crabs, and they are the main source of chaos.

Who Will Survive the Crab Coup?

In Crabs in a Bucket, no one can stay on the sidelines for long. Vampire Crab can swap the hands of two players, Tree Crab makes opponents share their cards, while Fiddler Crab takes one card from each player and gives them all to whoever has the fewest cards. The appearance of any of these characters can change the balance of power within seconds.

Some crabs are real threats. Lobster will not let you celebrate victory too soon - if this card is the last one in your hand, you lose. Ghost Crab can force everyone else to repeat your discard or draw four new cards. In a world like this, even a game that seems almost won can suddenly take a completely different turn.

But it seems that the Crab Kingdoms are running out of time when their only real threat was each other. The Crabs in a Bucket: Crustacean Invasion campaign is now nearing its end on Kickstarter, opening a new chapter in the story. This time, something foreign is coming up from the depths, and the crabs will have to face a threat that cannot be solved through the usual struggle for power. The campaign ends on October 1, so there is still time to support it and get the physical version of the game.
