What Is Daemonia and What Is the Game About?
Daemonia is a competitive dark fantasy game for 2-4 players, with a playtime of 60 to 90 minutes. The story takes place in the capital of the Underworld, where the disappearance of the powerful ruler Lightbringer sparks a struggle for the throne. Players take on the roles of Watchers, contenders for the crown who must win the support of the Stygian Council and prove themselves against their rivals.
The world of Daemonia draws on a dark interpretation of ancient mythology and demonic legends. At its center lies the city of the same name, built on the banks of the River Styx. It is a place of black markets, merchants dealing in forbidden goods, contract brokers, and practitioners of blood magic. Following the ruler's disappearance, the city has fallen into political chaos, while the seven members of the Stygian Council oversee the struggle among the potential heirs.
Beyond the capital lie five Hellscapes, each inhabited by a variety of mythical creatures. Volcanic lands are prowled by Cerberi and phoenixes, mountain lairs are home to Malebranchi, harpies, and griffins, while sirens and giant hydras lurk near the waters. The Fields of Asphodel hold a special place, as they are home to rare and friendly Nephilim.
The Void is home to legendary Demons, powerful beings with unique abilities whose allegiance is difficult to earn, even for experienced contenders.

How Does Exploration and Combat Work in Daemonia?
The game spans three Ages, each with four turns. Players choose one of three dealt Watchers, each with a unique ability. There are 16 Watchers in total.
On their turn, players can explore one of the five Hellscapes, visit Daemonia, or challenge a legendary Demon.
During an expedition, players draw two cards and choose a creature to fight, though they may find an equipment chest instead. Battles are fought one-on-one, with character stats, special abilities, and dice rolls shaping the outcome. Elemental matchups also matter, as some creatures have an advantage over others.
After a victory, players can subdue the creature and add it to their team, or sacrifice its essence to level up the victorious ally. Leveling up improves the ally's attack, speed, and health.
Visiting Daemonia allows players to heal their allies and gain two Soul Coins. They can also purchase items, sell subdued creatures, change their team, and complete Public Contracts.
Players can also challenge the legendary Demons of the Void. This requires two Invocation Candles, which can be earned through Contracts, found in Hellscape chests, or purchased in the city. A defeated Demon can also be subdued and added to the player's team.

How Can You Earn the Council's Favor and Become the Ruler of Daemonia?
At the start of the game, three Council's Demands are revealed, one for each Age. They determine which achievements will earn rewards at the end of each stage. As the conditions change, players must adjust their plans throughout the game.
Contracts also provide a way to earn Favour. Private Contracts can only be completed by their owner, while Public Contracts are open to all players. Rewards may also include useful items.
At the end of each Age, players face one another with teams of up to four characters. In a standard four-player game, the third Age ends with an additional showdown: winners face winners, while losers fight other losers. Games with fewer players have separate rules for their final battles.
After the final confrontation, players count their total Favour. Points are awarded for fulfilling Council's Demands, winning battles, and completing Contracts. Subdued Demons and accumulated Soul Coins also contribute to the score. Every ten Soul Coins held at the end of the game grant one additional Favour. The player with the highest total becomes the new ruler of Daemonia.
